We watched Transformers Age of Extinction the other day, and my overall comment was, “SPLENDIDLY AWESOME!”

I have gone to watch this awesome movie first, and I wasn’t able to watch How To Train Your Dragon 2 (which makes me quite sad by the way), but, Transformers Age of Extinction was splendid movie! Worth the money and worth the time–3 hours! I watched the full last show and I got home really late.

May Contain Spoilers Ahead

The graphics was really good, excellent in some degree. The story started first when the dinosaurs of years ago were killed, turned into metal–similarly with the Autobots–by some aliens boarded on a huge ship, and the ship was so big that it seemed like a city!

Anyway, that same ship, those same aliens boarded on it, had secretly partnered with humans in exchange of Optimus Prime. The humans in this movie was now in the aim to eliminate all the Transformers, especially Optimus Prime, because humans thought that as long as they’re living there would be wars.

Optimus Prime was so pitiful in this movie, I must seriously say. Okay, at least in the first few minutes–or at least an hour–he was almost a junk. Couldn’t even fight greatly like he used to before. He revealed anyway that it was the humans who ambushed them after the war in Chicago. Yeager was the one who saved Optimus Prime from his junk condition, risking his life and his daughter’s. Yeager and his daughter’s life, including his daughter’s secret boyfriend, was at risk the moment Yeager decided to help Optimus Prime and other autobots. Poor autobots, they’re going to be extinct in the Age of Extinction.

By the way, there were important lines in the movie that was really good, some of them were inspiring. The action scenes were splendid, the fighting flow and graphics was awesome, although some scenes were real quick to my eyes. I couldn’t say anything bad to the Transformer’s graphics in this movie, it was really the work of a genius, an artist!

Optimus Prime and BumbleBee

I must say that among autobots, there are two consistent transformers that I forever like–that’s Optimus Prime and Bumblebee! In the Transformers Age of Extinction, they made Optimus Prime hunkier here, he’d become a “macho” than the previous Transformers movie, well, that’s just based on my observation, don’t know with the others.

Bumblebee’s car design was again changed, modified into something even more cool, more yellowish! Well, he often changed his design when he didn’t like it.

I think the relationship between Optimus Prime and Bumblebee was like a father and son thingy, because it was always Prime who would discipline Bee. And well, Bumble was the youngest in the group, so he really need Prime’s discipline the most haha! Oh yes, Bumblebee here is SUPER cute, especially his dog robotic eyes. Until now I couldn’t seem to move on that he’s super awesome in the movie. Lol.

Plotholes of the Movie

Everything was splendid except for the fact that I kept on wondering why “those aliens who partnered with humans” wanted Optimus Prime. I kept on wondering why they came on Earth just to get Optimus and when they finally got him, they left the humans alone without war, just Optimus. But when other autobots and Yeager saved Prime and brought him back to Earth, “those aliens” came back to Earth again and now determined to kill Prime instead of just kidnapping him. Oh well.

While the fighting scenes were going on, my brain couldn’t stop wondering why they wanted Prime, and who was the “Creator” that they kept on telling him, who made Prime and so on. It wasn’t explained in the movie (I think it would be explain on the next one) but to someone like me who often is sensitive to plotholes (or confusion) like this, I just couldn’t help it.

The master of those aliens said to Prime, “You were created for a purpose. But you sided with the humans. You’re a disgrace to our kind,” something like that you know, and it made me remember the Dragon Ball Z, where Son Goku was sent to Earth for a purpose to destroy it, and yet Son Goku sided and lived with the humans. Could it be that Optimus Prime was the same? Nah. Couldn’t know. But I was considering the same plot…it might be possible.

Anyway, I’d never stop watching Transformers, and still hoping more Transformer movies to come. Haha. I love mechas, robotics, action, and futuristic machines the most. Now that I’m done with the Transformers, I’ll wait patiently for the Hunger Games “Mockingjay” — haha.

Mockingjay, you’re being watchedlist!

  1. If you are a fan of giant robot action you wont be disappointed. The story makes humanity out to be villains and the architect of our own demise through ridiculous nonsense that allows the bad guys of the bayformers to continue to defy the rules of death, while the good guys are always struggling.
