Every Child is Special

every child is special

My big brother and my nephew…and yes, I personally took the photo!

A child’s character is mostly influenced by those people around him. They will not say foul things if they have not heard it in the first place. They are what they see. And they are what they hear. When a kid grew up in a home full of hurts and pain, that child will carry the same hurt and burden until it becomes so unbearable for them to even understand the way of life. When no one guides them, they will end up isolating themselves, they will end up hurt and ruined.

When no one guides them, they will end up isolating themselves, they will end up hurt and ruined. But if a child grew up in a pleasant home with loving, caring, and God-fearing people, they will surely end up carrying the same attitude, and their character will be pleasing to the eyes of the LORD—if and only if, the parents have done their duty and responsibility as the LORD has instructed them to do so.

Domain Name: Why Is It Important?

So, I just bought another domain name. Haha. My other writing site is called WriteForACause.Org, and I bought it two years ago. This time, I bought a new domain from Automatic: http://www.ninesilos.com. This web address now points to my WordPress blog, which was previously addressed as : http://www.ninesilos.worpdress.com. This will be my extension of my writing career, and perhaps my ramblings about my work, the workplace, workmates, my city and other personal and professional matters.

Is Buying Your Own Domain Name Important?

If you’re just a blogger who wants to blog to express yourself, or a student who wants to post your school ramblings, then you don’t actually need to buy an exclusive domain name. WordPress allows you to blog as much as you want without buying your own domain, and it’s for FREE. However, if you’re a professional someone and wants to have a website which you can call your very own, buying a domain name is better because it makes your website or blog more professional.

Also, in buying a domain name it gives you more privileges, like for example, if you want to monetize your site then of course you have to get your own domain name, because most advertising companies want it that way. If you want to monetize your blog, buying domain name is important, simply because it’s one the requirements.

Additionally, by getting your own domain name you’ll increase your traffic. It’s like you’re saying to the search engines: “Hey, you, I’m legal! Come and find me.”

So, is domain name REALLY important?

Yes, it is. But it depends upon the kind of website you want, or the “lifestyle” of your blog. Whether you buy your own domain or not, is eventually up to you.

My Work Profile

My First Work on Wattpad: ZION

Hello everyone, I’m back, and back again. I haven’t been blogging for awhile because I was too busy with my work, I barely sleep this week in fact! Wew. But I’m loving what I’m doing and well, nothing is really easy.

I just want to tell you all that I’ve recently posted my first series on Wattpad (what, you don’t know Wattpad?!) and to tell you honestly, I was really hesitant at first. Yes, I write stories but I don’t upload them online when it comes to “fiction”. However, a sudden circumstance made me post it on Wattpad, because well, I’ve been encouraged by my talented friend!

My Friend Named Jowee

His name is Jowee, by the way, this good friend of mine. Recently, I have known that he write stories, too, and that he’s a writer like me. That made me really shock, you know. He’s too young and I didn’t know that he’s also into writing. I immediately ask him if I can read his stories and he gave me the link–on Wattpad! Okay. Why am I even shock?

You see, he uploaded his action story on Wattpad using his name–not some penname (which basically means you want to hide your identity) or the like. And I was like, “Wow that’s some courage out there.” I think he’s brave to publish with his real name, I have never done that even though I’ve been writing stories since time immemorial.

Eventually, because of Jowee, I was encouraged to really upload my fiction stories online, even if Wattpad is a free app which gives me nothing in return, but then again, why not try? Initially, I published my story so that Jowee could read it on his phone–and that is my main reason. My second reason is that he encouraged me without him knowing, HAHA.

Thanks good friend of mine!

Trying Wattpad

My first series ever uploaded on Wattpad is entitled “ZION”, Book 1: The Pursuit of Positive Crime. It’s a sci-fi and lots of machines and action along the way.

zion the pursuit of positive crimeZion Synopsis:

Zion, a combat machine, is finally set out to complete his mission after his ten years of waiting. Set in a futuristic Cenyth, where humans and machines are fashioned in neon, Zion has to find his “mission” only to meet this person who is–despite the colorful city, still clad in his old-fashioned noble cloak. And…is he with a butler?!

Later in the story, Zion finds himself in the company of a hot-tempered noble lord, a butler, and a blind woman named Yolanda in the midst of a universal havoc. And much to his unexpected journey, the very person whom he needs to find is actually a…? Well, that’s a secret for now.

What is the reason behind Zion’s mission? Why did he have to wait 10 long years? Well, Zion himself doesn’t know, the only thing he’s concern about is to fullfil it. A sci-fi story with lots of action, humor, robots, flying ships and a whole pack of weird people and a combat A.I. joined together in the midst of machine invasion.

The chapters are to be uploaded on Wattpad only, though I will update my blog about the progress. Hope you will have the time to read ZION!

Transformers! Age of Extinction: Review and Pictures

Transformers Age of Extinction Poster

Transformers Age of Extinction Poster

We watched Transformers Age of Extinction the other day, and my overall comment was, “SPLENDIDLY AWESOME!”

I have gone to watch this awesome movie first, and I wasn’t able to watch How To Train Your Dragon 2 (which makes me quite sad by the way), but, Transformers Age of Extinction was splendid movie! Worth the money and worth the time–3 hours! I watched the full last show and I got home really late.

May Contain Spoilers Ahead

The graphics was really good, excellent in some degree. The story started first when the dinosaurs of years ago were killed, turned into metal–similarly with the Autobots–by some aliens boarded on a huge ship, and the ship was so big that it seemed like a city!

Anyway, that same ship, those same aliens boarded on it, had secretly partnered with humans in exchange of Optimus Prime. The humans in this movie was now in the aim to eliminate all the Transformers, especially Optimus Prime, because humans thought that as long as they’re living there would be wars.

Optimus Prime was so pitiful in this movie, I must seriously say. Okay, at least in the first few minutes–or at least an hour–he was almost a junk. Couldn’t even fight greatly like he used to before. He revealed anyway that it was the humans who ambushed them after the war in Chicago. Yeager was the one who saved Optimus Prime from his junk condition, risking his life and his daughter’s. Yeager and his daughter’s life, including his daughter’s secret boyfriend, was at risk the moment Yeager decided to help Optimus Prime and other autobots. Poor autobots, they’re going to be extinct in the Age of Extinction.

By the way, there were important lines in the movie that was really good, some of them were inspiring. The action scenes were splendid, the fighting flow and graphics was awesome, although some scenes were real quick to my eyes. I couldn’t say anything bad to the Transformer’s graphics in this movie, it was really the work of a genius, an artist!

Optimus Prime and BumbleBee

I must say that among autobots, there are two consistent transformers that I forever like–that’s Optimus Prime and Bumblebee! In the Transformers Age of Extinction, they made Optimus Prime hunkier here, he’d become a “macho” than the previous Transformers movie, well, that’s just based on my observation, don’t know with the others.

Bumblebee’s car design was again changed, modified into something even more cool, more yellowish! Well, he often changed his design when he didn’t like it.

I think the relationship between Optimus Prime and Bumblebee was like a father and son thingy, because it was always Prime who would discipline Bee. And well, Bumble was the youngest in the group, so he really need Prime’s discipline the most haha! Oh yes, Bumblebee here is SUPER cute, especially his dog robotic eyes. Until now I couldn’t seem to move on that he’s super awesome in the movie. Lol.

Plotholes of the Movie

Everything was splendid except for the fact that I kept on wondering why “those aliens who partnered with humans” wanted Optimus Prime. I kept on wondering why they came on Earth just to get Optimus and when they finally got him, they left the humans alone without war, just Optimus. But when other autobots and Yeager saved Prime and brought him back to Earth, “those aliens” came back to Earth again and now determined to kill Prime instead of just kidnapping him. Oh well.

While the fighting scenes were going on, my brain couldn’t stop wondering why they wanted Prime, and who was the “Creator” that they kept on telling him, who made Prime and so on. It wasn’t explained in the movie (I think it would be explain on the next one) but to someone like me who often is sensitive to plotholes (or confusion) like this, I just couldn’t help it.

The master of those aliens said to Prime, “You were created for a purpose. But you sided with the humans. You’re a disgrace to our kind,” something like that you know, and it made me remember the Dragon Ball Z, where Son Goku was sent to Earth for a purpose to destroy it, and yet Son Goku sided and lived with the humans. Could it be that Optimus Prime was the same? Nah. Couldn’t know. But I was considering the same plot…it might be possible.

Anyway, I’d never stop watching Transformers, and still hoping more Transformer movies to come. Haha. I love mechas, robotics, action, and futuristic machines the most. Now that I’m done with the Transformers, I’ll wait patiently for the Hunger Games “Mockingjay” — haha.

Mockingjay, you’re being watchedlist!

My Inspiring Conversation with a Twelve Year Old Boy

Egay and Laika Performing in the 4th Philippines Summer Ballroom Championship

My brother, Egay, aged twelve, had a dance sport competition last Saturday. It hadn’t been a year yet since he joined the world of Dance Sport, but he got to join two competitions already out of several competitive pairs from his batch. On his first competition, Egay and his partner got 10th place out of 31 couples in the entire Mindanao, and it was the first time he got his own award and certificate. Since then he was motivated to dance more.

On his second competition, the 4th Philippines Summer Ballroom Championship, a nationwide competition hosted by Davao City, Egay and his partner Laika got to join. In this said competition, Egay was quite anxious because he got to dance and compete with his own trainers from the studio he was enrolled at. Yes, you read it right, Egay was competing with his own trainers aside from those pairs around the nation. Even though he hadn’t said it, I knew by a glance that Egay was quite concern about it.

During the dance, I was surprised. Egay didn’t have the energy he once had during the first competition.  He was really good at it, but last Saturday he hadn’t given his best. Egay and Laika got into the second round, but after that round, they were dropped. They weren’t able to get in the Finalist round. Even so, we’re very proud of him. It was a nationwide competition, lots of pairs, but he was blessed enough to proceed into second round.

After their entry, I saw Egay sitting alone on the top most stairs in the gymnasium. He was far from our post. He was staring down at the pairs who were dancing at the final round. I went to him and sat close next to him. And I said, “Congratulations.” He didn’t reply, he was just silent, trying to convince me that he was busy looking at the dance. But he was contemplating deeply.

Momentarily, Egay said, “We’re dropped. We didn’t make it to final round.”

“That’s ok. At least you got into the second round. But hey, what happened?” I asked him. “You’re good. But you didn’t have the energy and amore unlike before.”

I saw him knit his brows and he looked at me this time with little embarrassment on his face. He told me, “I didn’t give my best today. Partly I did it intentionally. I did it intentionally.” He repeated.

“I was nervous. Lots of couples. Good couples.”

“But you’re also good. You know it. Why did you lose confidence?”

“My partner is not good!” He burst. And honestly, I wasn’t surprise; he told us many times that he didn’t like Laika as his partner. “How can I have confidence if she’s not good? I’m disappointed. That’s why I did it intentionally to not give my best.”

“You shouldn’t say that. Everyone starts at not being good. And you shouldn’t be disappointed just because Laika is not good. You’re the man here, right, and because you’re the man then you should handle Laika, because that’s what you do in dancing! The woman follows your lead! ” I said.

He looked troubled again. Then he said to me, “I know that, Te. I do understand Laika. I always try to understand her! But it feels so wrong! She’s been dancing for two years, and she’s still not good at it! She doesn’t know. I’m disappointed because I can’t understand why she’s still not good after two years.”

Ah, I get it.

Egay was a very intellectual boy, he was very talented and smart, he was a fast learner, and his standards were often high. And we all knew that Laika didn’t passed Egay’s definition of good, but we always correct him. When we talk to Egay, we do it in a mature way, because Egay is very mature for his age. And you need to answer him very well because he’s quite a Philosopher. Egay often could not understand those people who couldn’t learn fast like him, but he knows anyway that there are such people.

“Well, even so, don’t be disappointed with your partner. Give Laika another chance. You know, just do your best, show to her that you’re doing your best, Egay. Motivate her instead. If she sees you at your finest, she’ll be embarrassed of herself for not giving her best, and later she’ll learn.”

Egay was silent after that. Another hit song started, and the finalist continued dancing on the ground floor. Egay then said, his face now wasn’t much troubled unlike earlier, “See that boy Te, number 157?”

“Yah, I actually like him. He’s really good. And always smiling.”

“They said my style is like that. And he’s a champion many times. He started when he was four years old. He’s so good now.” He said, and I knew for certain that Egay looked up to that boy as his inspiration.

“You can dance even more than that.” I told him.

“In Manila, I will give my best. I wanted to dance and give my best. However…”

“However?” I repeated.

“I hope that Laika will not be my partner this coming July. I’ll request for another partner this time.”

“But why?”

“I want to give my best. I want to perform well. But I don’t want it to be Laika this time because I want to know…I want to know if it’s because of me or if it’s because of Laika. I think now…that maybe Laika is not the reason why I can’t perform well, because she’s not good, but maybe, maybe I’m just the reason why I can’t perform well and not actually Laika. You know. On the next competition, I want to evaluate whether I’m good without Laika, or if I’m bad without her. If I can’t still perform well without her, then maybe I’m the problem. Even so, I wanted to know, and I will try my best.”

I smiled after that. How can a boy think something like this, he who wants to evaluate himself huh? But then, he is Egay after all, a boy who is very smart for his young age.

But I remembered something, “How will you tell Laika? That you don’t want her as your partner next time? She will feel rejected.”

Well, Laika has been rejected many times by her male partners for the same reason as Egay has. In fact, Laika has been doing dance sport workshops for two years, but only when Egay partnered with her was the first time Laika got to enter a real competition. In other words, Egay is the only partner who endured Laika for many months.

“I’ll ask Mam Eve about it. Mam Eve can tell Laika to switch partners, as an experiment, you know. I don’t have to do it myself, she will feel rejected. Just this one time, anyway.”

Our Egay is so gentleman! Even before the competition started, Egay was looking for Laika for a final practice. He was so troubled because Laika couldn’t be found, and he was nearly mad because of Laika’s recklessness, but then, when he found Laika who was actually just sitting on a far away chair, he composed himself. He didn’t let Laika see his mad face, instead, he went to her with a genuine smile, and with such grace of a young boy he offered his hand to Laika–as if Laika was a princess that he needed to take care of. From a distance, I saw Laika took Egay’s hand with a smile. I saw it all, because I was monitoring our Egay. Haha.

Anyway, back to his contemplation, I was so happy at his reflection that I grabbed his face and said, “Good boy! Let’s see then. You promise me that you do your best. When is the next competition?”

“I think on July 19, in Manila. Not sure. Why?” He said, struggling with my squeezing hands.

“Is it a free ticket?”

“Only me and Mom, I think.”

“I’ll go with you in Manila. I will watch the competition with my own eyes. I can’t promise but, I will give my best to save allowance and buy my own ticket, so I can go with you. A possible chance is that I’ll be so busy on that month, but I’ll drop any possible appointments on that day and go with you instead. Do your best, okay?”

“Okay.” He smiled.

My brother already knows how to evaluate himself at such a young age! Praise the Lord.

Now I have to save money to buy my own plane ticket ride! Brilliant haha.
